"We Are Committed to Building a Sustainable Future for All"

Everything we need for our survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment.

At Booth Industries, we are committed to building a sustainable future that integrates environmental, social and economic considerations into decision making, with the goal of  maintaining a thriving and healthy society.

Our key focus is to improve the quality of life for all stakeholders and interested parties, without increasing the use of natural resources beyond the capacity of the environment to supply them indefinitely.

Our Sustainability Principles

  • Collaborative engagement with stakeholders
  • Smart design that protects and enhances the environment and society
  • Caring for our people, our clients and our neighbours
  • Delivering products that are fit for the future

Our Carbon Journey

At Booth, we are playing our part in protecting the planet for generations to come, and are fully committed to being carbon negative by the year 2025. This commitment is backed up by a comprehensive business strategy and roadmap, which clearly sets out our journey to Carbon Net-Zero.  Key milestones on our roadmap include being fully scope 1 & 2 Carbon Net-Zero by the end of 2022, and direct scope 3 carbon Net-Zero by the end of 2024.

We aim to influence our indirect scope 3 life cycle carbon sources, and through good design understand the carbon balance of longevity & maintaining value vs sourcing routes and material selection, through means such as:

  • Minimise raw materials
  • Simplicity of installation
  • Increase longevity
  • Improved reliability
  • Minimise maintenance
  • Recyclability

Our journey to Carbon Negative:

By working with our supply chain and customers we aim to minimise the overall carbon impact of our products:

  • EU sourcing, UK sourcing where feasible (steel grade specific)
  • Purchasing strategies to reduce transport
  • Returnable re-usable packaging for supply
  • Efficient delivery scheduling
    • And in conjunction, efficient vehicle utilisation to minimise transportation
    • Choice of efficient delivery partners

Booth industries currently purchase renewable electricity ~53Te scope 2, and by end of 2021 will be fully supplied by renewable/offset gas ~161Te scope 1, thus reducing our direct footprint by 87% 208Te by the end of 2021.

We are currently reviewing UK offset schemes and a move to electric / hybrid vehicles to eliminate our remaining scope 1 by 2022 and direct scope 3 carbon (delivery, installation, water, WTT…) by the end of 2024.

Additionally we have moved to a carbon offset waste management company saving 10Te pa scope 3.

Finally, as a symbol of our complete commitment to this cause, we have launched an environmental scheme to commence our Tree Planting programme through our Booth Industries (‘Trees’) initiative, to make sure our carbon offsetting is guaranteed for the future.

Environmental Credentials

Our Environmental Management System covers both manufacture and installation, and is independently UKAS certified to ISO 14001:2015.

Our Environmental Policy drives our approach to reducing and minimising environmental impacts, and driving our environmental enhancements.

Integrated Sustainability

Sustainability starts during design and continues through how we purchase our materials, how we manufacture and how we supply and install the finished doors at our client sites.

Our primary material is steel, we recognise that the steel industry is notoriously energy-hungry and difficult to ensure it is sustainable.

All our steel is sourced from European sources who are accredited to ISO 14001:2015. During manufacture, waste is minimised by correctly specifying requirements and nesting of components.

 We use our expertise, knowledge and experience to ensure superior innovative design that delivers;

  • Extended lifespans,
  • Minimised maintenance periods,
  • Ease of installation,
  • Enhanced ease of maintenance,
  • Consideration of human factors and ease of use.
  • End of life recyclability.
  • Ensuring an enhanced lifespan, which can be maintained and remain safe in use and maintenance for the future.

All of our products are highly recyclable, supporting the circular economy principle, and reducing the lifecycle burden on the environment.
