Engineering is at the heart of everything we do. Our in-house team of qualified and highly experienced engineers includes over 30 people; from newly-fledged students introduced via our graduate engineer programme, through to experienced professionals and Chartered Engineers, with decades of continued service.

We are able to use this expertise and experience to work with customers and consultants at an early concept & design stage, in order to bring your vision and performance criteria to life, in the shape of a product tailored to your exact requirements. 

Our team is fluent in mechanical, structural, civil and EC&I engineering fields, and are represented at Chartered level within the IMechE. ICE and IET, providing complete assurance of our products and projects.

We supplement our design team with the latest in engineering software, to ensure that customer requirements are continually exceeded.

Our platform of choice is the AutoDesk Collection suite, which includes Inventor 3D, CAD 2D (mechanical and electrical), Navisworks and Revit.

Our state-of-the-art design software is compatible with the majority of BIM platforms. 

All FEA (Finite Elemental Analysis) work is undertaken in ANSYS, with our engineering toolkit encompassing calculation tools for more standard configurations.

FEA – Finite Elemental Analysis

Our FEA and development work is key to the success of our business, and provides us with the platform to continue to innovate and push the boundaries of excellence. 

We use FEA to demonstrate computational fluid dynamic(CFD), linear-static and non-linear elastic design compliance.

This analysis allows us to model and predict the behaviour of a particular door type and design under specific test conditions, such as for fire or blast, thereby allowing us to ensure that the eventual destructive test is successful first time.  This analysis data can also be offered to our clients as part of an assurance package, without the need for destructive testing, but instead through theoretical assessments and modelling.

Engineering is the home of our R&D team, which integrates all areas of the business to ensure product viability and optimisation is continually achieved throughout.

Product development is offered as a standalone project or as part of a project team, in order to achieve an assured solution capable of withstanding the desired nature and level of protection for your requirement.
