HS2 Project Advances

The HS2 project has begun destructive testing!

Following on from Booth Industries’ landmark HS2 award in late 2020, we have now reached the destructive testing phase of the works. This destructive phase is the culmination of months of design, development and theoretical analysis & testing of all the performance requirements of the cross passage doors, including fire, pressure and fatigue.

In the recent destructive fire test, the scaled-down sample of the EI120 sliding cross passage door passed the integrity and insulation requirements with flying colours, achieving results that were accurately predicted through our design analysis & calculations.

Another successful outcome for Booth Industries and HS2, and another market-leading product is conceived, designed and then fully assured for the market !

The images below show the exposed and unexposed sides of the door after 4 hours exposure to fire.
