Booth Industries are adding the final touches to the specialist doors required for the British Antarctic Survey project in Antarctica.
In early 2020, Booth were awarded a prestigious contract to design, manufacture and install a series of bespoke high performance insulated doorsets, for the new research base at Rothera, Antarctica.
Since the award, our journey has seen us continue unabated during the Covid-19 pandemic, meeting milestone after milestone through the various design, manufacture and testing programme requirements.
Understandably, the logistics of delivery and installation are a lot more difficult to fulfil given the remote location, and with only one boat a year, a huge amount of faith was placed in Booth Industries by our client to meet the challenge. As expected, and as we have demonstrated so many times in the past, there is no challenge we cannot meet!
Now here at our factory in Bolton, UK, in October 2021, the access and large vehicle doors are undergoing final Factory Acceptance Testing prior to packing and then loading & shipping onto their final destination, where ultimately Booth will be reunited with the doors on site in Antarctica in January 2022, ready for installation by our intrepid engineers.
