Quantity Surveyor


Overview

 

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and financial aspects of projects, from tender stage through to final account. This role is central to ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, profitably and in line with contractual, financial and quality requirements.

You will work closely with Project Managers, subcontractors and clients, providing commercial oversight, managing risk and supporting informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

 

What you’ll do

  • Lead the commercial management of projects from tender support through to final account

  • Work alongside Project Managers to control cost, programme, risk and change

  • Manage subcontractor commercial performance, from procurement through to final payment

  • Provide commercial insight and financial reporting to support informed decision-making

  • Act as a key commercial point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders

Key responsibilities

  • Administer contract change control, including variations, notices and commercial correspondence

  • Monitor project programmes, identifying delay, entitlement and commercial impact

  • Manage subcontractor accounts in line with contractual, legislative and company requirements

  • Prepare and submit interim applications for payment, monitor cash receipts and resolve exceptions

  • Produce accurate monthly commercial reports including cost/value reports, cashflow forecasts, WIP and earned value analysis

  • Maintain full and accurate contract documentation and ensure compliance with company procedures

About you

  • HND or degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a main contracting or project delivery environment

  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial controls

  • Highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable working to tight deadlines

  • Confident communicator, able to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
